Ayurvedic Yoga Massage in Mysore, India

by admin on August 11, 2008

If you’ve never had an Ayurvedic massage, there’s no better place to try it than in India. It’s very different than any other type of massage I’ve ever had. Be prepared to leave your inhibitions at the door! The Ayurvedic massage in India that I experienced at the Regalis (Southern Star) versus the one I had stateside was very “open” shall we say. No modest sheet draping or politely averted eyes.

Use of herb-infused oils suited to a person’s ayurvedic constitution or dosha are used liberally. So whether you are Vata, Pitta or Kapha, an appropriate blend of herbs is used to pacify your dosha and bring back balance. The marma (or energy points) are then massaged to release blocked energy, stimulate organ functions and strengthen the immune system. It’s well worth experiencing and a bargain in Mysore. Below are a few places to consider. [click to continue...]
